Over ons
SKV Melmac is the Tilburg student korfball association and was founded in 2005. It currently has more than 60 members. The association's home base is at the sports center of Tilburg University at Academielaan 5, next to the Avans and close to the University. The hall is also located here, where games are played from November to March. At SKV Melmac you can continue to play korfball fanatically as a student, while you can also enjoy good third halves and all the other activities that we organize in addition to korfball.
Student korfball
There are 11 student korfball associations in the Netherlands. Student korfball associations cannot be compared with other korfball associations. There is no youth department and there are almost no members over 30. Almost every student korfball association in the Netherlands has its own tournament where there is a lot of partying in addition to korfball. Melmac organizes the Alf Trophy every year in October with a real Brabant beer cantus. Anyone who studies can come to Melmac. Both students from Tilburg University and students from one of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Tilburg and the surrounding area are very welcome. Melmac offers korfball players the opportunity to continue playing matches “at home” on the weekend, but still be able to train in Tilburg during the week. Of course you can also come and train with us and play in our competitions. We have two fanatical midweek teams; a women's team that plays on Wednesdays and a mixed team that plays on Tuesdays. We will also have a performance-oriented weekend team again from the 2020/2021 season. This team trains twice a week and plays its matches on Saturdays. Melmac offers korfball for all levels, from novice korfball players to top korfball players.
Activities
In addition to korfball, Melmac organizes many activities and drinks, such as a BBQ, a pub quiz, the active members party, Sinterklaas Christmas and monthly drinks in our favorite café Café Bolle where we drink the necessary (free) beers. We also go away for a weekend every year and we have our own club magazine, the Melmaf.
Development
SKV Melmac is also the ideal association to develop yourself. You can do this by taking a seat on one of the many committees or even on the board. In short, SKV Melmac is a versatile association.
